How Performance P-Wave Works

01

Consultation & Assessment

Every treatment plan starts with a private consultation to review your health history, current symptoms, and goals. Because Performance P-Wave isn't the right fit for every patient or every condition, this step determines whether acoustic wave therapy is medically appropriate for you, or whether another approach should be considered first.

02

Acoustic Wave Application

During each session, a handheld device delivers focused, low-intensity acoustic pulses to targeted areas of tissue. The waves pass through the skin without cutting, injecting, or numbing anything, which is why the procedure requires no anesthesia and is generally well tolerated. Most sessions run about 20 to 30 minutes.

03

A Full Series of Sessions

Tissue regeneration happens gradually, not in a single visit. Most treatment plans involve a series of sessions spaced over several weeks, which gives the body time to grow new blood vessels and repair tissue between appointments. Your provider will map out a specific schedule based on your assessment.

04

Ongoing, Natural Results

Because the treatment works by encouraging the body's own repair process, benefits can continue to build for weeks after your last session, not just during treatment. Most patients return to normal daily activities immediately, with no recovery period built into the process.

What to Expect

Before Your Session

You'll be asked to avoid blood-thinning medications for a short period before treatment and to arrive well hydrated, both of which support better circulation during the session. There's no need to fast, sedate, or arrange for someone to drive you home — you'll be fully alert and able to drive yourself afterward.

During Your Session

You'll lie comfortably while your provider applies the acoustic wave device to the treatment area. Most patients describe the sensation as mild tapping or pressure rather than pain. Sessions are typically 20 to 30 minutes, and you'll be able to talk with your provider throughout if you have questions.

After Your Session

There's little to no downtime — most patients return directly to work or normal activities the same day. Mild, temporary redness or discomfort in the treatment area is possible but uncommon. Following your provider's specific aftercare guidance helps support the tissue repair process between sessions.
